World Diabetes Foundation
During my 10-week internship at Knowit Experience, I collaborated with my mentor to redesign the World Diabetes Foundation website.
The project aimed to optimize the website's structure and enhance its design without drastic changes.
My tasks included sitemap creation, heuristic evaluation, wireframing, UI/UX design, user stories, and designing components and pages.

Accessibility
Improving accessibility was a major focus, as the original site did not meet WCAG standards. Because diabetes can impact vision, achieving both high contrast and strong visual appeal was a meaningful challenge.
We created a new color scheme aligned with the brand’s original palette, implementing it across the site while ensuring all color and background combinations met WCAG accessibility requirements.

Visuals
We redesigned several website components to improve organization and visual clarity, using structured card layouts. To strengthen the brand identity, we integrated the World Diabetes Foundation’s logo—a drop of blood—throughout the site.
In the homepage hero section, we featured the drop shape as a photo frame, subtly referencing the logo. On the project map page, we customized map markers by inverting the drop shape to resemble traditional pins, blending familiar navigation with brand consistency.
