Mit Skærmbarn (Bachelor's Project)
Background
As digital gaming continues to dominate children’s screen time, many parents face daily conflicts about gaming habits. My personal experiences with gaming — both positive and challenging — inspired me to design a solution that fosters better communication and healthier boundaries between children and their parents.

The problem
Children are spending increasing amounts of time gaming, often leading to misunderstandings and conflicts at home. Many parents struggle to understand the digital worlds their children engage in and feel powerless to set effective boundaries.
How might we help parents better understand and manage their children’s gaming habits to reduce family conflicts?
How might we help parents better understand and manage their children’s gaming habits to reduce family conflicts?
Research
- Interviews with parents, a family counselor, and a child 'gamers'.
- Empathy Mapping to capture frustrations, needs, and behaviors.
- Persona Development focusing on concerned parents and active young gamers.
Key Insight: Parents are more successful when they understand gaming rather than just restrict it.
